Istanbul, 27 December: The Association of Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen (Tusiad) chairwoman, Arzuhan Yalcindag, said [on] Thursday [27 December], "The state is late to create an investment climate for private sector investors in regards to urgency of new investments."

Taking the floor at a conference titled, "Supply security in energy: Policies and proposals" in Istanbul, Yalcindag said energy has become an important issue as it forms world economy and policy.

"Steps to be made in 2008 on this area will have a strong impact on foreign relations and performance of industry over the next decades as well," she remarked.

Yalcindag underscored the necessity of a market structure foreseeing competition in energy sector and noted that dialogue between public and private sector should be boosted.
