Turkish Export Reaches 107 Billion USD
* Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said Thursday that Turkey's exports would reach 107 billion USD by the end of 2007.
"On the other hand, our imports will be around 167-168 billion USD, which is a figure we should pay attention to," Tuzmen said.
Tuzmen delivered a speech at a gathering of Uludag Exporters' Association (UIB) in northwestern province of Bursa.
During his speech, Tuzmen said EU member Greece's annual exports reached 20 billion USD, while only UIB's exports exceeded such figure.
Tuzmen said Turkey broke many records in exports and added, "Turkey's export figures stand on two record-holder sectors: textile and automotive".
"We need a transformation and we can actualize this transformation with products with higher prices, higher quality and a higher added value," Tuzmen added.
He said that exports would make Turkey a richer country.
